Teleomorph state: Torrubiella arachnophila var. pulchra Mains
Description:Specimens were found on spiders attached to the underside of leaves. Spider host completely covered by a mat of sulfur-yellow mycelium. Synnemata (rarely) solitary to numerous, arising from all parts of the host, cylindric, attenuated, 4-8 mm long, 50 µm wide, consisting of parallel multiseptate longitudinal hyphae. Hyphae hyaline, verrucose. Conidiophores brown at base becoming hyaline, minutely verrucose, arising from mycelium covering the host and from synnemata, up to 140 µm long on synnemata (200-250 µm from host), septa conspicuous, 8-10 µm diam. Terminal cell hyaline, smooth, 3 µm diam. swelling to 10 µm sub-globose head. Metulae hyaline, smooth-walled, 8-12 x 5 µm. Phialides hyaline, smooth-walled, 9-10 x 2.5-3 µm. Conidia hyaline to purple, fusoid to almond- shaped, smooth-walled, catenate 2-3 x 1-2 µm.
