Torrubiella hemipterigena Petch
References:Specimens were found on the underside of dicotyledonous leaves of forest plants. Hosts are leafhoppers (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae). Stromata consisting of dense hyphae, completely covering the host, white to grayish or pale yellow weft. Conidiophores scattered, usually erect, commonly around the perithecia or on leaf surface, 60-70 μm long, ca. 2 μm in diam., septate, smooth-walled, hyaline. Phialides in whorls of 6, with a swollen elongate flask-shaped base 6-10.5 μm long, 1.5-2 μm wide, narrowing to a long thin neck; conidia hyaline, aseptate, smooth-walled, fusoid, 3-4.5 μm long, 1-2 μm in diam. Conidia germinate within 24 h on PDA. Colonies are fast-growing, attaining a diam. of 20 mm after in 14 d at 20°C. Colonies are white and floccose. Collections in Thailand have been made from Doi Inthanon National Park in the far north until Ton Nga Chang Wildlife Sanctuary, Songkhla in the south. Collections have been made throughout the year. To date there have been no records from monocotyledonous plants.
